ISHFF Big Bang STEM Expo

Join the fun at the Big Bang STEM Expo on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Tays Special Event Center at NMSU‑Alamogordo. This free, family‑friendly event brings together hands‑on science activities, rocket building, bubble experiments, asteroid mining, sound science, VR demos, model airplane building, and more.

Kids can sign up for small-group STEM classes starting at 10:00 am and again at noon, with options like building solid‑fuel rockets, exploring bubbles, learning how sound works, or creating an “Eggstronaut.” Many classes include a follow‑up rocket launch on July 18 at Mesa Verde Rocket Park. Class sizes are limited to 25, and registration is required.

Throughout the day, you’ll also find interactive exhibits from groups like STARBASE Holloman, Sunspot, White Sands National Park, Women in Aviation, Spaceport America, NMSU‑A’s VR Lab, and others. Food will be available from the Sugar Bears truck.

STEM exhibitors can participate for free by offering a hands-on activity or demonstration.

Perfect for families, educators, and curious minds of all ages—come explore, learn, and have fun with science!
