At the New Mexico Museum of Space History, we had a great time participating in the #KeepLitterOut campaign with a cleanup and beautification effort. In just about three hours, volunteers from Grace Methodist Church in Alamogordo, staff from the Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum in Las Cruces, and our dedicated museum team joined forces to paint over 150 feet of two-rail pipe railing across the campus, make our exterior windows shine, collect seven extra-large bags of trash, clear clogged drains, pull weeds, refresh our xeriscaping, and refurbish the wood chips in our children’s playground. The result? Our “gem on the hill” nestled in the Sacramento Mountains of Alamogordo looks fantastic!
We extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make this possible. If you are interested in joining the mission to protect and preserve New Mexico’s natural beauty, please visit https://www.breakingbadhabits.nm.gov/.
