New Talent Joins the New Mexico Museum of Space History

The New Mexico Museum of Space History welcomes two new employees, Brigette Smith and Levi Heisinger. Brigette is the museum’s new Front Desk Customer Service representative, and Levi joined as an Education Coordinator and Planetarium Projectionist.

With extensive experience in hotel front desk operations, retail management, and telecom sales, Brigette is excited to engage with our diverse visitors. As she puts it, “Every day, it’s different.”

Brigette has a keen interest in astronomy and space exploration.

A fun fact about her is that she enjoys building terrariums and nurturing live plants in her aquarium, creating a healthy environment for her fish.

We’re thrilled to have Brigette on our team! When you purchase your ticket from her, expect a warm smile and a generous dose of optimism.

Levi is a familiar face at the museum. In the summer of 2022, Levi interned at the museum and transitioned to a full-time role from 2023 to 2024. In his past and current positions as an Education Coordinator and Planetarium Projectionist, he also contributed to creating promotional videos for the museum.

He holds an associate’s degree in arts from NMSUA and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in history, all while working full-time at the museum. Levi says, “I feel like I am back home with my work family, teaching space science and having fun in the process.”

In his free time, he is the lead vocalist and guitarist in an alternative rock band, and he can often be found on starry nights gazing at the stars or practicing astrophotography.
