April 9, 2022 — The New Mexico Museum of Space History’s Science Saturday at Pizza9 in the White Sands Mall “Exploring the Universe: Orbiting Objects” — This hands-on activity invites visitors to experiment with different sized and weighted balls on a stretchy fabric gravity well. The activity models gravitational attraction in space. Participants investigate how changing conditions can cause phenomena like stellar wobble and planet formation.
Science Saturday is a monthly presentation by the museum’s education department that offers free hands-on STEM based science programs to kids in grades 2-7. The program runs from 10:00 am to 11:00 am and all building materials are provided free. Science Saturday is held on the second Saturday of each month. All kids must be accompanied by an adult.
