The upcoming NMSU-A Summer STEM Camp: Rockets & Drones, hosted in partnership with the New Mexico Museum of Space History, has officially reached maximum enrollment. The two‑week program, designed for students entering 6th through exiting 8th grade, offers hands‑on exploration of rocket science during the first week, followed by drone flight and technology during the second.
Week 1 runs June 1–5 at the New Horizons Dome Theater, where students will build and launch their own model rockets. Week 2, scheduled for June 8–12 at the NMSU‑A Tays Center, focuses on drone operation, programming, and technology. Each day runs from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with lunch provided for all participants. A final student presentation will conclude the camp.
Organizers announced that registration is now closed after reaching the maximum number of participants ahead of the May 22 deadline. Families with questions may still contact Dr. David Fletcher at 575‑439‑3770 or 832‑969‑3637.
