Launch Pad Lectures Return to New Horizons Dome Theater

ALAMOGORDO, NM – The New Mexico Museum of Space History is pleased to announce that the Launch Pad Lecture series will return to the New Horizons Dome Theater, starting with the April 4, 2025, lecture. Mackette Kark will present One Orbit, Endless Impact: Yuri Gagarin’s Vostok 1 Mission at 9:00 a.m.

Before he became a global icon, Yuri Gagarin was the son of a carpenter who dared to reach for the stars—quite literally. Uncover the remarkable story of how one Soviet cosmonaut’s 108-minute flight forever altered human history, showcasing the extraordinary courage that propelled humanity’s first steps into the cosmic unknown.

This free event is open to the public, with coffee and donuts provided courtesy of the International Space Hall of Fame Foundation.
