New Horizons Theater Temporarily Operating with Limited Abilities

Live Star Shows Will Be Shown Daily at 10:15, 12, 2 & 4

(Alamogordo, New Mexico, Oct. 29, 2019) – The New Horizons Dome Theater and Planetarium at the New Mexico Museum of Space History will be temporarily operating with limited abilities beginning Wednesday, Oct. 30, due to a main projector failure. The theater will be showing only live star shows until the projector is repaired.

“We are working closely with the manufacturer of the projector to get a technician flown here to make the necessary repairs,” said Theater Manager Dave Dooling. “In the meanwhile, we’ll be using the projector system from our portable planetarium to do live star shows.” Live stars shows will be shown in the theater at 10:15, 12:00, 2:00 and 4:00 on Monday and Wednesday through Saturday, with shows at 12:00, 2:00 and 4:00 on Sunday. Visitors are encouraged to check the museum’s website or call the museum directly to check on the status of the theater.
