The New Mexico Museum of Space History (NMMSH) is pleased to announce publication of the ninth in a series of papers by the museum’s Curation Department, Curation Paper Number Nine. Edited by Assistant Curator Jim Mayberry, this issue is a commemoration of the fiftieth anniversary of the Project Mercury flight Sigma 7 by Walter “Wally” Schirra (1923-2007). Captain Schirra (USN) recounts the mission, and the rest of his astronaut career in his oral history. The issue also features the official NASA biography of Captain Schirra, who was the only man to fly NASA’s first three manned programs: Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo. He was, as well, the first person to make three space flights. Curation Paper Nine and all earlier Curation Papers can be downloaded from the following page under the About the Museum section of our homepage Curatorial Papers Publication.
Read about it in the New Mexico Museum of Space History's newly e-published Curatorial Paper Number Nine.
